Short-Range Transport

A standard short-range orbital transport in use in the relatively urbanized Luyten's Star system.

This project was a bit experimental in a few ways for me. Typically, I like to add at least one new technique. Here, I not only experimented with an image texture on the pressurized passenger module, but also a fully annular radiator, which will feature more in later craft in this system. In the background is a procedurally generated planet, Luyten c (which is a real exoplanet), ringed by orbital habitats.

Being largely meant for short trips, this model of transport is somewhat overbuilt, with four rows of fuel tanks and the classic Lightbulb GCNR. As a small red dwarf system, these ships likely could make interplanetary runs between Luyten b and c, although the cabin layout would likely need to be reconfigured. In an inter-orbit configuration, pictured here, it would likely be laid out similar to an airplane cabin, with trips lasting a few hours max.  Beyond the main components, a run-of-the-mill fission reactor and oversized RCS blisters finish out the design, with a stylish halftone gradient livery on the passenger module.

(Bonus points to whoever can guess what the livery is based on)
